Have been contacted about interviewing for a job with PriCara. Not sure if I want to proceed.
I know I'm going to get all the usual ridiculous responses, but am hoping someone will give me some straight information.
What do Pricara reps currently sell? Has Aciphex ER been approved? Will PriCara carry Riva when it's approved? When is that approval expected?
What else is in the pipeline and likely to launch soon? Anything?
I appreciate any insight you can give....
    Thanks!

What does Pricara carry you ask? How about hostility, aggression, animosity, depression, anxiety, etc......... You get the picture?

About the only thing it doesn't carry is a long and successful career.

Levaquin: goes off patent in 3.5 months.
Aciphex: Brand name drug in a sea of OTC & generic
Nucynta: Schedule 2 opioid that should be a schedule 3 (smooth move, brand team), has spotty insurance coverage, and did I mention that all its competition is generic?

    Futures?
Aciphex ER: punted back to R&D by FDA.
Nucynta ER: tick, tick, tick, tick.... (but otherwise same issue as current IR form).
Xarelto: novel anticoagulant that has same issues as other anticoagulants: safety questions always dog this class.
    C-something (for diabetes): No data.
Anti-nerve growth factor: studies ended due to safety issues.
Hey, pricara, remember when they promises a drug to treat PE?!

Management: Very much manage by the negative. When the co. has a survey the results are so bad they don't really share them (J&J "Credo" surveys have been laughable of late) and they lead to nothing but "beatings will continue until morale improves." Even managers who once had good reputations have been pulled over to the Dark Side (probably to save their own jobs.)

Then there's Sheri McCoy's spasm of honesty back in 2009, when she told Business Week that the plan was to eliminate expensive sales reps calling on primary care docs. That statement was never retracted publicly, as far as I know.

Come to J&J if the frying pan you're in is no worse than the fire.

Anyone remember the Credo survey a few years ago when the home office couldn't understand why the scores were so bad? They actually thought because we didn't have a layoff that particular year (or month) that we should all be happy and give great scores. Their response was major layoffs the next two years running.

Then there was the brilliant Gallup engagement survey that Jeff Smith ordered. Those resuls were reported by Gallup to be some of the worst in the industry! I shit you not!!!

Thank you for the serious reply! I appreciate the insight, particularly the Business Week piece, although I'm not sure McCoy's stance is any different from any other big pharma sales executives.

Oooooh, okay. Thanks for the heads up MORON. I am so sick of the pessimistic idiots, posting doom and gloom from the anonomity of their keyboards. We get it -- big pharma is in trouble. But that doesn't mean impending doom for everyone. I GUARANTEE March 16 will come and go with no cuts at PriCara. But, believe me, moron here will just come up with another date...and the moronic posts will continue.
