Having used a vettest for many years and generally been happy with it my rep sold me a catalyst, faster, state of the art, more accurate, etc etc i asked about the cost of consumables and quite frankly I was mislead big style. The machine uses at least 5 times as many slides as he claims absolutely outlandish. Got mine taken back as I had it on a 3month trial. Back to the vetest for me just as good and no hidden strings (well at least no more than I know about). I am angered at being lied to.

Not to mention the hidden costs of the service contracts!

Unfortunately Idexx is on a march to be a 2 billion dollar company. They don't take care of their sales reps- how often do you get a new one? The turnover rate is incredible. Also they don't care about their customers- how often will you see your Idexx rep after you actually buy then equipment? The reps aren't even compenssated to retain business- either equipment, snap test or lab business. Once they make the sale they are gone. They used to be a great company but they really just don't care about anyone but the shareholders. Jon Ayers ruined the company
