I was part of the Avanir buyout by Azur - thought the company was great - no debt, reasonable management--then WHAM out of no where all but 19 reps were laid off with no warning in December. The call starts out...we are debt free, have had the largest month of sales to date and expanding the women's health division...and we are downsizing the CNS division (the larger revenue producer BTW -WTF!!!!) The whole thing was mishandled - definitely a knee jerk reaction in my opinion. Azur owned the Avanir side for one year and apparently was expecting miracles. The Pharmelle division did not want to hire any Azur reps even though the positions were available for lateral moves. They want to low ball everyone on salary - mostly reps right out of college with little or no experience. Heard the VP of sales was an ass too.
