I'm trying to get in to dental sales. I have 3 years pharma experience, 3 years home health experience, and was in a marketing position for a health care staffing company before that. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
As a long time implant rep, my advice would be stay away from implants, its turned into a really bad career choice.
I would advise you to stay out of implants. If you have no other options then go for it but this industry is dying fast. So much competition, so geography specific as to who does well and bottom line not fun anymore. Discounting and commodity is where this industry is headed.
Interesting area of dentistry but there are problems. An amazing number of specialists have enrolled in PPO programs so they are going to be far more price sensitive than in the past. Companies are going to have to deal with this and get more lean. Many of these specialists no longer embarrassed to admit that they are placing fixture from InplantDirect. Companies who think they can charge more for something new may be kidding themselves. More likely that they will have to innovate just to stay competitive have a perceived edge.
