EMSI is a terrible organization to work for so definitely check all options before taking a position. They are small fish in industry that is dying slow death due to insurance companies reimbursements dwindling. The management is a joke at best, CEO doesn't have college degree! The middle management have 1 or 2 years selling experience and then get promoted which in my 11 years of sales, decent sales person=not good manager.

TENS is age old technology that is being redone and repackaged to sound and look great. It is true if you can sell this Neurological Stim you can sell anything but everyone has it and the Internet is cheapest. The reason this industry is dying is because companies like EMSI want to grow so they distribute a unit to a patient through a sales rep and then charge the insurance company thousands of dollars for something that cost $20 to make. (even says made in Taiwan on the units!!!)

The insurance company has no choice but to pay for it because the patient has the unit and swears it works ( which it does sometimes). patient interaction is great and you can really enjoy that.

EMSI will promise 6 figures etc but it doesn't happen, even the best reps may get close. Health insurance is a joke with the 30k/year base salary if you have family the monthly deduction takes out most of your paycheck. Car reimbursement is max $500 /month and NO option on 401k until after 1 year and the expense budget is $1000/month. Be prepared to pick up lots of subway and gallons of tea.

The regional manager on east coast is 31 year old idiot who is the younger brother of the VP. It becomes clear why he has the job.

Empi and RS are much better more established companies that value their reps somewhat. Overall the industry is not the best place to be, go bone growth or implantable Stim.
