"Retention" was a corporate goal (aka result) created by the former CEO. That term left with her when she was booted off the BOD. That said, retention is a thing of the past. "At will" is what is commomly practiced these days. "If you are not aligned with senior and middle management, you will leave at will. In the past few weeks, several have left at will. Make no mistake.....there are many who have looked but have not yet found a job....that is certainly not "retention". At will employment do apply to them when the time comes.
