I'm about to start my last year of college. I'm beginning to job-hunt but I worry my age may be an issue as I'm rather young where I'm at in life (I'm 20 and can't even rent a car yet). From your experience, has age been a hurdle in the hiring process?
Age shyould not be as big and issue at 20 as it is at 52. I firmly believe the most difficult discrimination to prove is age discrimination. 50+ have a far more difficult time landing jobs post downsizing or leaving another company. It is also very difficult to prove age discrimination. The other area of severe discrimination is the overweight candidate. It is buried under "image", appearance, energy (or a lack of it), etc.
