You Thought They Cut The Fat in 2009?

Wait till you see the herd thinned come Thursday. No one is safe. Don't even think being a Hall of Famer will save your arse. You are probably at the higher end of the pay scale with more vacation and a pension. Compare that to a newbie with 3 weeks of vacation, lower pay and no pension. They are looking to cut costs and could care less about your years of high performance. You are too expensive. But the joke is on Pfirezer because experience was what was needed when they launched Toviaz, but they had just laid off alot of their senior people in urology with the relationships needed to launch another me-too drug. Look where Toviaz is now. Even Enablex is kickin its butt.

2009 seems like forever. They definitely cut in more areas than others. The last 5 years have been a steady squeeze on sales. In many ways it has killed the goose that lays the golden egg. Toviaz launch had to be one of the worst in history. Ranks up there with with the best of Pfizers duds (Inspra, Zmax, Geodon, Caduet and of course who could forget Exubra). It didn't help that the launch was capped off with a 2 hour riot act on why we had to pay over $2.3 billion to the Feds. What a killjoy! And don't forget the compensation that was introduced and then changed on the plane ride back home. Most docs were willing to write it, but have had so much trouble getting it approved the last 2 years, many have given up. I don't know how we are making any money on this drug? And now we get word from the SDs that we will go back to leaving Detrol LA starters with the Toviaz. Schwartz has to be laughing all the way to the bank.

Obviously there is more lard to cut but it should start at the top of this mismanaged, once the number 1 drug company in the world. What a sad shell is going to be left. Pfirezer is now a joke and a Harvard case study on how not to manage a company.

I was laid off in 2009 and I was ranked 4th in the NE... Dont think you are safe!!! The "fat" was never trimmed.. If you make less money and are a "yes" person you are probably safe..
