Okay, I am trying to get into medical/healthcare sales. I have outside sales experience and have worked on a draw vs. commission. honestly, i never knew these jobs existed. I was at the ob/gyn the other day and saw KC rubber gloves on the counter. Do you salespeople "sell" this stuff to doctors? I mean really this job must be a joke? How hard is this to sell? If this is true, I am dying to get into this business. Im not trying to be obnoxious I just dont really understand what a sales rep at KC or Mckesson or these other companies actually do and it just seems that selling gowns and gloves seems so goddamn easy that Id give my right arm to get into this business. I know there are device reps etc and you're selling science and technology etc. but do these positions selling this stuff like glove exist or do offices just order this over the phone?
    Please advise

You're an asshole. That's why you will NEVER get a job like this. I sell devices with KC. I am so happy to NOT be selling gloves and gowns. It's a commonity! Business savy? That you are not.

Selling a 'commodity' is anything but easy. What an arrogant post. I think you should give your right arm anyway, just for being such an idiot.

I don't know if your comment was geared toward me or the original poster or not. I meant that selling a commodity was very difficult and that's why I'd rather be doing devices. My intertions were to let the original posted (jackass) know that it's not as easy as he/she things and that I wouldn't want to do it for that reason.

I'm sorry if it sounded a different way.. that was not my intention (I was the second poster)

My response was geared right towards the OP, aka jackass.

don't know much about medical sales just trying to get info. I understand its a commodity; and Im sure its competitive, but arent hospitals and doctors offices going to buy from you anyway? Im saying it sounds like an easy sale and Im sure it pays pretty well.
I know med device is alot different, I'm not trying to get into that type of sale

I'm in devices and the glove and commodity folks are over 500% to quota. It's a supply company. If you want to hit quota and make money go to supplies.

Except when you lose a big account, see the bottom half that are -500% to quota.

No selling in supply, get on a contract, make money. Lose a contract lose money. Actually the way supply reps are paid is ridiculous.
