Forget Loestrin 24. Try Yaz. It will cost you less 99% of the time and have similar clinical effects.

Oh yeah, I used to sell Loestrin 24. Got out of selling that garbage as soon as I could. Thank GOD!! Birth control is a NIGHTMARE! Especially when your product has been around for 30+ years and is just repackaged.

Obviously pretty dumb, because docs are writing it hand over fist.

My doctor just gave me a couple of samples of Loestrin 24 Fe, a script, and a co-pay card. My insurance has it at tier 3 with a $60 co-pay, and the copay card will drop the monthly cost to $24.

It looks like my insurance lists all generic birth control pills at tier 2, with a $40 co-pay instead of a $10 generic co-pay, but I still need to confirm this.

I am anxious to try it since I have heavy periods.

Has anyone else seen generic birth control pills listed on formularies as a higher priced tier 2, rather than tier 1 generics? I am wondering if this is why Loestrin 24 came out with this co-pay card.

yikes - I am the previous poster. It looks like the Loestrin24 co-pay card expires at the end of 2011. Since I have 2 months of samples, I guess I will have to get the script filled near the end of the year and hope they renew the program. If they don't renew the program for 2012, I guess I will have to switch to a generic so I don't have to pay $60/month for this.

Anyone know if Warner Chilcott plans to continue this copay program?
