Does anyone else have to interview for their current job?

I was just told that one of my coworkers must interview for another sales position, against a current employee, because their position was being eliminated. What is this? One minute we are told that there is nothing to be concerned about, then we are expanding, now there are territories being eliminated and "re-alignments" taking place. If I am told I must "reinterview" for my job, it just might be a great opportunity and time to take a package.

 

I just heard something like this too. Exactly who decides which rep stays and which rep goes? Otard?
