What is it really like to work for Santarus?

I have an upcoming interview and I need to know more about this company. I have extensively read many posts on this board. How hard is it to sell extended release Metformin? How much does it cost the patient compared to generic metformin? Any insurance, medicaid or medicare coverage? How difficult is it to sell Cycloset applying all the variables listed above? I could relate to the posts of putting your heart and soul into a product/company and being thrown away during layoffs. I also can relate to dreading ride-a-longs, National Meetings, and POAs. I know CF is a place to bitch, but many times the posts are truthful. The money sounds pretty good, the territories are huge, but I need to know more. I need a job, but I sure do not want to get into a bad situation. Any truthful information would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

Why would you say that? I thought these were good questions. I guess I will get my answers during the interview. Sorry to have bothered you!

If you dont know your they are rediculous questions then you do not deserve the opportuntiy.

I thought that the OP had some good questions prior to his/her interview. What is the word rediculous? I've never seen or heard of it before.

until CF gets spell check, then misspellings will occur. i agree with 2nd poster, if your that concerned then ask hiring manager or do own research with your physicians that you have relationships with...CF is not a good place to get answers.

Has anyone who interviewed in Louisville had a 2nd interview? Just wondering?

DON'T DO IT....if you value your sales career, find another pharma company. This is hell.

Be glad you left this sinking ship. There is no bouncing back. This company is full of promises and missed opportunities. Trust me, Santarus will find a way to screw up any drug they sell..... and blame the reps in the process.

Bad thing about it, many of us are unemployed from layoffs now. We have got to have a job. I had this romantic idea that I would go on many interviews and pick just the right job this time. It Isn't Happening. Very few jobs to apply for and even fewer interviews. Device does not want you if you are experienced in pharmaceuticals and there are hundreds of applicants for every job. You win your awards and get good reviews during your carreer, but there are so many with your same awards and good reviews. The longer you are out of work the more you begin to doubt yourself. You know you can sell any product, but now you wonder if you will get that chance again. The last thing I want is to make a mistake with a bad company, but I have to feed my family. Did not mean to vent, but I am starting to get scared. P.S Looking forward to hearing how I am such a loser and it must be my fault. Walk a mile in my shoes before you open your big mouth!

Amen! Good luck to you. It is easy to gripe when you have a salary and health benefits. I am in the same boat as you. NEVER thouhgt I would be. The longer I go without a job.......

I hear the second round of interviews for Louisville will be later this week. Does anyone in the running know when the final round (with the Regional) will be?

Doesn't say much for the quality of the employees at Santarus if this is all they can post. The OP was asking important questions for those that have been laid off and are looking for a job in this economy. Sounds like you'll be in the same boat soon. It'll be even tougher for you to find a job since you're an IDIOT!. I'm sure your mom is very proud that you can put sentences together now.
