I work for a small company with no PBM support. We have a couple good products, but consistently make 3rd tier or PA status even though our prices are close to the generic. I would like to make an effort for my territory to at least make contact with a few insurance companies and see if I can improve coverage. Anyone willing to take a phone call or communicate through email to answer a few basic questions??? Any help/positive support would be greatly appreciated.

To be honest, any Managed Care person (RAM/NAM) would feel insulted if you started contacting plans on your own. I suggest that you invite your Managed Care person to work in the field with you for a day and mention several plans that you feel are affecting your territory and you need help with improving the formulary status.

This is your best bet. If you do not have a Managed Care person/team, then approach your Sales Director for permission to reach out to plans that affect your territory. Most names of Pharmacy Directors can be found by searching their websites. Good luck!

You can also collect letters from the big docs who contract with a given plan stating that they want/need your product on formulary and either give them to your ram or have them sent to the pharmacy director
