Congratulations Bama Boy on your win!!-For both the season and Bama's victory! Alabama looked great last night and they deserved the win, and LSU looked like they were hibernating for the winter and full of Beneits.
And a big Thanks for the great season on this board! I will be back next year!:)

I agree with you. LSU looked like they were still napping.

    Full disclosure for Bronco:

Pick score for regular season was 82-72.

Pick score for bowl season was 22-13.

Pick score for entire season was 104-85.

My pick win % was 56%. While not a stellar year - it was a good year. I'll take it.

Thanks to Moderator Bamaboy and to all the pickers for your participation.

Let's get together again for March Madness and do it again. I don't see Alabama or LSU in the top 25 NCAA basketball teams this year. Right now Syracuse and Kentucky are #1-2. Keep your eye on Gonzaga #21 as this year's Cinderella team.

Hey Everybody! I am definitely hung over after BAMA shut out LSU last night. I am still in a state of shock. BAMA proved again last night that Defense does win championships.

LSU is a very tough team (13-1). Saban prepared the Defense to stop the option and we had some players back who were injured. I agree with some other College Football Fans nationally that this was not the most entertaining National Championship. This game was like watching a no-hitter in baseball. It was a shut out not a shoot out. No-Hitters are boring but you have to respect the skills a pitcher has just like a dominant defense.

I chose BAMA to win but really thought going into the game LSU would win at home in NOLA. I actually think LSU playing in NOLA after a big Saints win on Saturday Night kind of backfired on them..

Is it just me or did the LSU fans seem hung over? I heard there was a 3 night minimum this past weekend for hotels near the Super Dome/French Quarter/Ware House District. The LSU fans in the First Half just did not seem to be as loud and raucous as they usually are. I kind of think maybe those LSU fans might have been exhausted after three days of hard partying and celebrating. NOLA is the only place I know that has 3 for 1 Happy Hours.

There are reports that Jordan Jefferson was seen a few times before the game in Harrah's Casino. Maybe the LSU players were out their imbibing with the fans a little too much. Who knows?

I would really like to know what you think....

Thanks to Bronco for officiating the Bowl Bonanza Blowout! I really appreciate you picking up the slack. I promise to do a final for this thread.

I really do appreciate all of your kind words. Recently I have been preoccupied taking care of BamaBaby and do apologize about not updating this thread.

Unfortunately two weeks before Christmas BamaBaby had surgery on his eyes. He was diagnosed with Congenital Pediatric Glaucoma. This is a very rare disease, Ray Charles went blind as a child because years ago this disease could not be treated. BamaBaby is doing much better. One eye is totally fine but we have to take him back to have a shunt placed in the other eye.We are very blessed that this is not a life threatening disease and we caught it early (he is 5 months old). I just wanted to let you all know I do apologize about not keeping this thread updated but hope you will understand.

Congrats Fucktard!! You are a very tough competitor. I really thought I was toast after picking NIU!! If you would have picked Florida we would have tied!!!

I really want to thank everyone for your participation and picks. This is a really fun way to make the football season more interesting. This is a good diversion from the grind of our challenging careers. I and many others have struggled with layoffs and just trying to make a living and provide for a growing family. I also like it that we have College Football Fans represented from all over the country. I enjoy hearing the thoughts and opinions of College Football fans from different areas of the country!! THANK YOU & ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

Sorry to hear about your son, Bamaboy. It must have been a stressful holiday season for your family. There is something to be said for modern medicine. Glad he's recovering I wish him all the best.

All in all, college football in 2011-12 was pretty weak compared to previous years. I think the National Championship illustrated that. One team was shut out and the other team scored only one TD. I think it had more to do with weak offenses than strong defenses. LSU was absolutely pathetic. LSU crossed the 50 only one time during the entire game.

I guess I remember all those great teams in the 80's and 90's like Miami, Nebraska, Ohio St and U of Florida.

And great teams normally have great QB's. The Alabama and LSU QB's last night were mediocre. In fact, Jefferson was pathetic.

Hopefully the sport will improve in 2012.

Wow - glad to hear BamaBaby is doing better! I know this is a silly anonymous board, but your story touched me. Wished I could have lent some written moral support sooner. It is wonderful that it was caught early - you must have a great pediatrician!

You did a great job with the betting bonanza. It was a lot of fun.

It's been a bittersweet college football season for me, too. In the middle of it, my dad passed away. He bled Orange and Blue and taught me everything I know and love about football. This board about college football and picking the games was an outlet for me. Thanks for the diversion.

Fucktard- I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I am sure he will have a front row seat in Heaven to watch the Florida Gators win their next National Championship. I am looking forward to The Gators making a comeback and regaining their rightful place in the SEC (at the top).

Bronco- Thank you for posting the final totals. I really appreciate your diligent work cross checking the final scores and our picks. I am already looking forward to next season. I agree with you that I hope it is a better season.

FINAL SEASON THOUGHTS: This season has been rather bitter-sweet. I am happy that BAMA won the National Championship. This season was highjacked by the PENN STATE/Sandusky Scandal. The other day I was listening to ESPN radio about how PENN STATE think the whole scandal should not be referred as the "Penn State Scandal." Well that is where this whole story originated?

The Commissioners of all the Major Conferences met this past week and discussed instituting a Mini-Plus-One Playoff. The top four teams will compete. The top four teams are still voted in by the Coaches/BCS Poll and these teams do not have to win their Conference. We still have a long way to go before some kind of proper mini-playoff.

NEXT SEASON: Next year LSU will be back. Southern Cal (love them or hate them) will also be making a big comeback. Hopefully next year we will not have so many big scandals. I am looking forward to watching Boise State in the Big East. Logistically it sounds like a nightmare but I am sure Boise will be dominant.
