The rot is where is always has been for Ranbaxy, in India.

So going by your argument, the rot is India. How do you explain the firing of Sethi, who for a long time wsa a US employee. I suppose he went to india to rot?
Its not India or US, its the managers who ran this company. The culture in this company bred arrogance and nepotism over many years. This was mixed with the culture in India where you can buy everyone for a price. That is how it got iteslf in this mess.

Sethi was not rot, he was fired because he would not bow to Tokyo. Same reason as sobti.

Bowing to Tokyo or protecting his old buddies?

And why was Abha and TG fired? Tokyo doesnt know as much about generic regulations as both of these crooks did. What do Tokyo gain by letting go people who know more about Ranbaxy Para IVs than anyone in Tokyo does?

Tokyo is making many changes, some good and some not so good. They are rooting out the rot as you say, with removing people like Abha and TG, but they are also removing anyone who dares think RBXY should have any management authority of the company. Next 12 months will be interesting times, watching who survives.

Daiichi is not controlling. We have full decision making authority with respect to what brand of paper we use and what color pens. What more do you want?

Didnt the same people at RBXY who had management authority got it into the mess it is right now? How quickly do people forget. Wait, oh! those people suckered Tokyo into buying the empty bag and made out like bandits.

How dare Tokyo think they can root out the rot? They should flush their 4 billion dollars investment down the drain, with bond paper and color pencils and all. That would really clean the rot in the toilet, doesnt it?

The Japs got what they bought. Never did any due diligence, took Malvinder at his word and forgot to verify any reps that Ranbaxy made. If you are stupid enough to spend that much money on this bull crap, you have no one to blame but yourself

Who are these folks? Part of the rot, although you would need to add alot more names...at least in the US Venkat...Managing Director US and LATAM Operations. Manjeet Bindra....VP of Quality...a total joke. When the entire company bows down and kisses this man's behind, you have to wonder who he has an "in" with.

Never seen a company who throws stuff up against the wall after 5 min of thought and then proceeds to mutiple rounds of patting each other on the back for a job half-assed. Those employees who are inept and keep their mouths shut will continue to collect way too much money and be promoted while doing the same job. Anyone with talent, a brain, some ethics and a mouth moves on to greener pastures.

I will never take generic meds again...

Not everyone is as fortunate as a PASHTOON! Its sad to see that despite so much obvious fraud and malpractice, this company continued to make money in the US maket. In fact, just this week it reported sales of about 100 million dollars last quarter in the US. Is there any accountability for the actions of these morons?

Apparently no one. If the FDA were doing its job effetively Ranbaxy would have been off the US market several years ago. Additionaly, many of its current and former employees, including top executives, would be facing criminal prosecution or be in jail.

The saddest aspect of this are the Americans who despite knowing that Ranbaxy was exposing American consumers to fraudulently develop pharmaceuticals have continued to work for this company.
