Get ready for the Japanese kick to the nut. It's that safe.

I can't believe I an writing on here. I find that only the losers write on these things. I was only on the site to see what AZ was up to and how that might affect the market place. People at Otsuka...This is by far the best company I have ever worked for. After the POA in New Orleans, I was so utterly impressed by the Executive Management Team and left that POA never feeling as confident about an organization. I am not a manager, I am just a account manager. As a rep that has been downsized by anohter org. I am thrilled to be working for Otsuka vs the rest of the industry, and so should you. No Coolaide drinking here. Otsuka has time and time again tried to only improve things for it's employees since I have been here. Definitely there have been hick ups, but at least they recognize it and fix it. As far as that Japanese crack...the Japanese culture is one that doesn't believe in layoffs. Otsuka has never laid off. If you can't see that or have not done your research, well then you just are not that bright. I also know that only the weak whiners write on these posts. However, the Japanese do expect you to work hard. I know that might scare some of you. I have been selling Abilify, first w bms and now Otsuka. I am still having new conversations with my physicians every day. If you are not you are just bad at your job and probably should leave the industry. These boards are kind of made for you then I guess. A place to commiserate.

Hey thanks for the honest post. I just joined the company and am thrilled to do so.. the company made me a very fair offer and everyone I talked to prior to interviewing had nothing but positive vibes. Fired up to get rolling out in the field once training is done.

What are you smoking? Otsuka has had two layoffs in the past 5 years!

poster is correct. Otsuka is not immune from layoffs. This crap about the Japanese not believing in layoffs is b.s. Japanese don't believe in operating at a loss, so layoffs will no doubt prevail, as the bleeding needs to stop somewhere. Expect Otsuka to be like the rest of pharma, trying to find an identity. Immune to layoffs....that's laughable.

Are you serious? Otsuka is never safe. They do not care about their employees and will fire you in a second if it benefits the company. Your sales numbers mean very little so don't fool yourself. Ask what happened to the initial Samsca sales force?
Good luck to the new employee - You will need it!
Looking forward to reading your post after the next POA.
