This company is a joke. ChemoFx doesn't work. They know it. They just laid off 15% of their workforce. They knew for an entire year that the test was reporting out too many greens. Greens = false positive sensitivity to chemotherapy. They still charged Medicare for it, and the patients as well.

To the last person who posted, I'm sorry you lost your job. The company lost a lot of good people this week.
About the too many greens comment, please tell the whole story. The non-conforming products were taken off the market in May. True, we have been working to discover the cause of those non-conformances since then so we can bring those products back online. The rest of the products have been verified to be performing within specifications.

Oh really? So when the company knew about the "non-conformances" where was the announcement to the doctors or the patients? What about the money that medicare paid out prior to removing the product from the market? Did you return it? How about the money from the patients? Did you reimburse them at all?

The fact that you are trying to even dignify what the company did is disgusting.

As I just lost a family member to cancer, I hope you know how it feels to have false hope.

Because false hope is the real product this company is selling.

Bullshit. While the management of the sales force is a joke, the product is needed.

Chemotherapy needs to be justified beyond using empiric data. Every person is different, every cancer is different, and so every therapy should be different.

Don't let the fact that you were let go, it happens in every industry and every product, get in the way of understanding that personalized medicine is CRITICAL for the future of cancer therapy.

False hope is NOT what is being sold here. The reps and employees have no contact with the patient, and it is the doctor that uses these results, or not. The doctor is the one who gives the patient hope or not, not a lab test.

Reps in the medical industry, often times, think they are more important in the process than they really are, which is comical. Reps aren't as important as they think they are, it's that simple.

I'm sorry for your loss. We've lost family members to cancer too. I can understand why you are angry, but your anger is misdirected. I've been up to my neck in information on this "quality issue" for over 6 months now, and I'm still convinced there is value in this test. If I got a diagnosis of cancer tomorrow I'd ask my doc to do this test for me. It's not perfect, but no lab test is. All lab tests are flawed in some way. We're still here trying to make it better. Good luck to you in your next opportunity.

    1. Where's your clinical data supporting the use of ChemoFx? How can you justify charging 5 grand for a lab test when you have zero data supporting it's use?

    2. If your test is so useful then why did ASCO recommend for it to not be used outside of a clinical trial setting? How long do you think it will be until it trickles down and all the doctors stop using it?

    To the earlier poster:

    1. There will never be any data supporting the use of ChemoFx. Their observational study is a joke and is used only to induce the oncologists - reps use it all the time to get the doctors to send and make a pretty penny off of it. I heard they have some sort of clinical utility trial now that is even a bigger joke than that other piece of crap observational study.

    2. "The use of chemotherapy sensitivity and resistance assays to select chemotherapeutic agents for individual patients is not recommended outside of the clinical trial setting. Oncologists should make chemotherapy treatment recommendations on the basis of published reports of clinical trials and a patient's health status and treatment preferences."

MM is a tyrant and I can't believe SM lets him run the show at this place. SM is a highly intelligent man and should know that nothing good will come from letting MM continue his reign of terror. The sales numbers are dropping and will continue to drop. If any of you were smart, you would look for another job...I left this joke of a company years ago and it was the best decision I ever made.

The above poster pretty much sums up the intelligence of the current entire sales force, including MM.

I've never encountered such an unethical, low class, bunch of idiots in my life. Upper Management is completely incompetent and not trustworthy. They tell lies to everyone, from the people who work in their labs to their sales force, and lastly, to the doctors and patients who order this piece piece of crap test. MM, JF, and KK by far are by far the worst offenders. The only 2 decent managers they had were BL and GD. Karma is coming back to bite MM in the butt, he has single handed run this company into the ground.

And why does SM allow MM to continue his reign of terror? Cause even though SM is intelligent, socially he is incompetent, just like MM. These two are so out of touch with reality. I would have loved to see MM go out in the field and successfully sell his line of bullcrap to all the docs out there.

Employers and headhunters know the horrible reputation of this company and their reps, everyone should be running for the hills!

I agree that there will never be any data supporting the use of ChemoFx.
I just have a question. Since ChemoFx is potentially harmful to patients, can we do something to stop this company and let patients know it?

    An earthquake in Costa Rica!
Dear God, I hope this doesn't affect the upcoming President's Club trip for sales reps and others from Pgh who can talk their way onto vacation!

Dont work for either. Caris test is snake oil. They CEO is an over reaching ass. He was lucky to dump the Ap business on the Japs. They were dying and losing business all the time. The Japs gave him a big check so he can go on pushing his snake oil.

Just heard through the grapevine that SK put her notice in - this company is going to be up a creek without a paddle when the only one with any intelligence leaves. Anyone else looking for new jobs?
