Does Genoptix plan on getting in-network with Regence or Premera in WA? By October, they won't be able to bill through other states' Blues plans, meaning big out-of-pocket expenses for patients...

Afraid it ain't being taken care of - ask either plan if they're going to bring Genoptix/Genzyme/Athena/Berkeley in-network; the answer is a resounding "no"... and no doc's gonna refer to a lab that leaves their patient high-and-dry with a massive bill....

You're selling compass doctors have a choice. Your budget won't be adjusted, raised actually next year. Man I miss this company.

Man I thouight that the reason that Genoptix hired the Market Access West and East Regional Directors was to help insure that we got better payer coverage. Maybe if the new VP of Market Access, LH would pull her head out of her ass and wipe that jokers grin off her face, they could get something done. Peace be with you!!

Agree with the OP. Unlike Quest and LabCorp, Genoptix spent no time developing relationships with all of the Blues plans. They thought they could keep billing through a few Blues for the business in all states. Big mistake, as the Blues finally wised up and have shut down that option, meaning Genoptix now needs to sell themselves to each Blues plan to maintain their in-network status. What's happening in WA is happening everywhere, and if a genetic lab doesn't prove their clinical superiority to each Blue, they aren't getting in-network for that Blue. Scary times...
