How much volume does SkinMedica do on their internet accounts (i.e., AstonishingSkin.com, LovelySkin.com, SkinStoreRX.com, DermStore.com, etc.)??

Trying to figure how much business could go back to our physician's offices and our commissions/bonuses each month/quarter/year...sure it's a lot :(

Lets just say, an I can assure you I have seen the data, it's WAY more than they will ever tell you. It's not a good model. You all sound good in the BS you tell accounts about Internet policy, but the reality is, SM wants to sell out. They need revenue growth at any cost. You are wise to realize patients will quickly re purchase via these sites and save hundreds. That's why few patients buy more than twice from docs!

I think I have seen product at Costco as well. Is that correct? The large expansion of the salesforce was for the pharmaceutical side that never really happened. I am surprised they have held onto so many representatives.

these products belong at Costco but over the counter products don't smell like penis thank goodness. Can anyone actually post an FDA approved study not conducted by the company that says this ridiculous bs does anything???

Of course not! All of the studies are not of the quality to submit to the FDA. Let's face the facts, if there was a pill that grew hair, no sales force needed. If there was a pill that made you lose weight, no sales force needed. If there was a pill that cured cancer, no sales force needed. If there was a topical product that made you look younger, no sales force needed! If this crap worked, why do I see wrinkles, lines, and discoloration everywhere I go including derm and plastic offices and including all of us working for SM!? Just the mere fact that all of these crap companies sell these crap products with significant sized sales forces is an indication they don't do anything but make profits for the owners. Very few if any repurchasing going on here. Desperate patients just go from one useless line to the next spending thousands looking for the foutain of youth! Face lift and make up. Thats the only way to look younger.

All of those websites seem to be owned by derms or estheticians. TNS is exactly the same price of $247.00 at all of them. What you shoud be doing is requiring these accounts to send you zip code information of where SM products were/are shipped so proper credit can be applied to the rep. Patients are going to opt for convenience most of the time and if they can get SM brands at the same price as their doctors office sells it, then that's likely to be their choice when not needing to go see the doctors. You would probably have to provide them some software to be able to track the zip codes and send to you, but it is doable with the right IT person.

HELLO...WHAT DON'T YOU PEOPLE GET???? SK could care less what the price is on ANY website! They don't give a shit about the physician...they're still selling product at wholesale and the physician's office is just another stream of funneling product to the consumer (at least the ones who are dumb enough to pay full price!)

Don't be so ignorant...SK has DIRECT accounts w/ these sites (yes, including COSTCO) because they need the volume...even better if they don't have to pay commissions to sales consultants! Why the hell would they hire/pay someone in IT to track it??
