This thread is meant to invoke some fun for those of us still stuck here in despair and is open to all current and past employees with only one rule: Please give one factual and accurate anecdote of your ridiculous experience(s) at MDL. No so and so is an idiot but rather an actual reason of why this is such a horrible and laughable place to be employed at (at least from the outside looking in). Learning that your company car would be a Toyota Yaris after being told of an "allowance" during the interview process would be one such example. Have fun and please keep this factual in order to warn all future interviewees. VT - Please stay away!!!

Among many things I can list I'll go with "The Script"

I was asked in my interview how I felt working with a script and truthfully I'm OK but having to memorize and recite PAGES of blabber word for word is over the top! Wasting a whole week in "training" learning it and being hen pecked for every mistake was the most unprofessional experience I have encountered.

Most sales are based on relationship and ability to meet a need. Not spewing pointless facts at a prospect while they lose their attention after 30 seconds.

Here's a thought VT! Give us rep's talking points so we can develop our own script! Personality counts in a sales call. Or, are you that much of a control freak?

I like how you are supposed to walk up to the receptionists' window manage to spit out your name, who you work for, and list 15 different tests MDL is capable of doing.

Training was a complete joke and those in charge were very unprofessional. I was treated with more respect in grade school. Some people post a lot of nonsense on here to vent, however, 99% of what I have read is true. I'm not posting to contribute to the nonsense. I'm only doing it to save others from having to find out for themselves.

How long ago did you go through training? You don't have to get the car right? You can get your mileage allowance?

Here is the deal, you can get the crappy Yaris, and risk your life, or you can get $0.34 per mile. For those who don't know math, that's THIRTY FOUR CENTS PER MILE. and there is no car allowance. what planet do these morons live on??? gas is almost $4/gallon!!!!! how about the wear and tear on your OWN CAR??? and yes, they will go through your expense report, for no warranted reason, with a fine toothed comb. And nickel and dime you for any lunch you do over $10 per person. So you know what you do, tell the fuckers you had 20 ppl at your lunch when there may have only been 10. dumb fucks.

You do not have to take the car but the mileage that MDL reimburses is horrible. I think they offer 34 or 35 cents a mile compared to the IRS allowable 55.5 cents as well as every other company I have ever heard of. Consider, unless you drive a car getting very good gas mileage 30+ mpg, you are losing money. You are responsible for all mileage over 700 a month, all maintenance, and most importantly the depreciation your car is obtaining by putting so many miles on it.

No matter what way you look at it, it is a horrible deal. If you take the Yaris you still have to keep another car for personal use and have a place to store it which can be a problem depending on where you live. At the very best, you still have the embarrassment of all of your neighbors knowing your company only provides you with a Yaris!

Omg. I thought it was bad when I was there some years ago. Everyone could see bob was on his way out. vt was a horrible regional manager. Incredibly anal....control freak to the Nth degree. Now I see she is the actual sales director. God have mercy on anyone who mdl hires. I'm very quickly losing respect for dr.m. He knows by now how vt is. She is a liar. Plain and simple. She uses techniques communist union bosses used back in the USSR days. How many reps are there total? Why are there so many openings? What is the turn over in the sales department every 6 months? When did they stop giving out a monthly car allownace? Why is it with every new decision the rep gets screwed? vt is horrible, horrible person. I don't know why she's not in jail or been sued. Please all who are thinking of interviewing with this outfit.......research it. Talk to reps already employed with mdl. if you have to take the job........make sure everything they tell you is in writing. When they deviate from it......SUE!! or, least, go to human resources so she can enlarge vt's file. i know they started this some years ago.

going to HR does absolutely NOTHING. K is nice, but cannot do a thing for you. K has been told over the years about VT and nothing. K is highly ineffectual.
