Has anyone had any success working with Berkeley reps? Anyone making money with them? I just found out they have nutritionists working with their patients, but aren't allowed to work with the Berkeley/LP tests we can sell. Is there a reason for that? Some of my offices would love a nutritionist service.

You can't offer it because it's an illegal inducement to get the business. They were able to offer it because they were a small private lab and flying under the feds radar. Now its the big, bad national lab with deep pockets that is being watched closely by regulators and whistleblowers. Its what you get with big business corporate America.

It's not inducement, they've been doing it for over 10 years. Their competitors do it as well, even place nutritionists in offices. It is considered part of the "program" and cost is built in.

I'm not aware of risk to patients, but am sure it is minimal.
Lets call the local state attorney general to see what they think. Have you seen the letters from the major insurers on the patients deductible being met when they are only charged $100. Where's the FTC and the lawyers? Patient could lose insurance and doc the ability to participate with insurer. Quest and Lab Corp should be getting excited about this since they have the most to lose.
