"Historically, specialty anatomic pathology laboratories have used a host of quality and service features to drive pathology out of the local market and into their centralized laboratories. The steady migration of biopsy procedures to an outpatient setting coupled with a lack of sales and marketing resources has further weakened local pathologists’ hold on the local market. There is also a widening technology gap between local pathology practices and centralized sub-specialty laboratories. For instance, the rapid progression of digital pathology, while still at the early-adopter stage, is enabling the rapid, and efficient co-management of cases among multiple laboratories and physicians. Digital pathology systems and other capital-intensive technology enhancements are accelerating the technology gap between local pathology practices and well-funded competing centralized labs."

Holy Crap, you are describing exactly what CBL has done for the last ten years!! Do you think we are idiots. Now you are trying to be my friend!! I am the marketing manager for a small "Community" Pathology practice and you nearly bankrupt my company by taking our business with your bullshit POD lab structure. Now that we are winning back our business and you are dying you DARE to try and play this game. Well you are going to waste your moneu at USCAP anyway.
