Guys, my endocrinologist just advised me to start taking a new medication for my hypothyroidism. He's taking me off of Tirosint, and is letting me choose between Synthroid or Levoxyl. I've been reading about them online, but they both seem pretty much the same.

Has anybody had any experience with these? Anybody prefer one over the other?

they are the same, go with either or just get the generic. If you get the generic get you doc to give you a standing order for blood work and go get it checked every 4 to 6 weeks

Syn is a NT (Narrow Therapeutic) drug meaning there is a "narrow" margin between an effective dose and a toxic dose. Just take the brand. It will provide more stable control once they hit the right dose for you. A generic can swing plus or minus 25% of the bioavailability of the brand and lots can be different. So, with the brand, you will need less lab monitoring.
