NOTE TO SSF (Shal) IF YOU DISSOLVE ROB'S POSITION OR GIVE US SOME LAME EXCUSE OF HOW IT WILL BE HANDLED YOU ARE SENDING THE WRONG MESSAGE TO THE FIELD AND THE SAME DWINDLING SALES WILL CONTINUE. THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO PROMOTE SOMEONE WHICH WILL START THE CHAIN OF EVENTS FOR OTHER PROMOTIONS AND YES A POSITIVE VIBE AMONGST THE FIELD.

    Let's re-cap:

    A) Customer Care and people "displaced" after being told this would never happen. Bad for morale.
    B) Reps let go but the not one DM/BD. Sends the wrong message.
    C) RSM positions in the past dissolved after reps leaving and no room for promotions. Bad for morale.
    D) Marino leaves and now we have one VP of sales instead of two. Sends the message we do not have confidence that there is no one ready to step into the VP role. How can this be when we have BD's in the same position for years? Ridiculous.
    E) Developmental roles: Sound great to me except we have people in their current roles forever. It is not their fault except our DM's are not going anywhere because they are not being groomed or pushed into a bigger role or position. Crazy and a broken system. How can we even go for one of these roles when they are now permanent?
    F) ePDP and Succession planning- DM: "Are you willing to relocate?....because if you are not than you are stuck where you are in your same territory calling on the same docs year in and year out" = A recipe for declining morale and sales. How about the following? Rep: "I don't know Mr./Ms. DM/BD are you willing to relocate? Because you are the one that is holding up the system" Why isn't our upper management held to same standard? Predictably one of our immature DM's who is probably an HR liability will respond with a sarcastic remark how they "earned" becoming a DM and we should try to as well. Really doing what? Stepping in shit and just being at the company longer than better and more qualified reps? It is crazy.
    G) Good reps like AD and JF and others leave and we say they left on good terms. Not true or they would not have left. So the good reps leave and continue to leave and the bad become the mediocre and mediocre become the good in terms of reps in our sales force. Which equals declining sales. Not hard to do the math.

This is an overall disaster for a formula and we continue to brush it over as it is not a problem. I am tired of working for a manager who is not motivating or gives me no hope for career advancement. We should be looking to fix what is broke internally and get this ship pointed in the right direction before a vital time in our company and the launch of a drug for the future. What makes you think the same dwindling sales won't happen with a new drug? Time to shake things up. Rob's announcement is your golden opportunity.

Right. Sales are down bc you cant get promoted. Has ANYONE missed having two VPs??

Filling Robs position will cause a maximum of 5 promotions. It won't do anything but cause further distraction while resumes are polished and interviews taking place. And while it was sad to lose some colleagues, it is time to move on.

The reason for declining sales was RE did not have plan in place for the label change with Letairis even though KOL's were telling him that it was coming.

You are completely missing the point and obviously out to lunch. There is a fundamental problem in the organization, any organization for that matter, when you have no chance for upward mobility in any capacity.

So dissolving a VP position does hurt overall and does effect morale. When was the last time a BD or DM position or developmental role was open or even an opportunity? 3 years ago. Unreal. Give the field something to shoot for or stop asking about what our career goals are going forward. My goal is to work for a manager who couldn't produce half of the sales I do but wants to talk to me about what I need to improve on.

    Stop ignoring the problem.

There is no need for 2 VP's, all those DM's and RBD's. Don't forget there are only 99 salespeople. There only needs to be 1 VP, 2 RBD's and 8 DM's. You are delusional. We have been top heavy for years, and not in a good way.

It is amazing to me how many years in a row the Seattle District has a COE winner. Come on.
Dr Butler sure helps, leaving the home office and going into private practice in OR, how nice.

The turnover at this company is incredible. I put $50 in the pot that by the time maci launches, there will be 40% new reps with less than 1 year under their belt. Sales of maci won't be stellar. Come on people, rio is coming and so is the ambition trial. Time to wake up and smell the coffee. Sales may be up for a brief period, but it is going to take a nose dive. The TAM and KAM roles are useless roles (except for a handful) Get ready for some belt tightening and another "exciting journey"! The red tape just got thicker. I will put another $50 in that there will be layoffs, oh, I mean reallocation, oh, I mean whatever! within a year.
