Wow sure is quiet in VIVUS land. I mean "the company" land.

No parting words from the over paid boneheads before they are all replaced tomorrow? I can't wait to see who is left in Mountain View when the dust settles. Hopefully some much more competent executive people that will keep us from looking like a bunch of clueless idiots at times. The IC should get better since the fat cats won't be padding their wallets so much. Hell, it can't get much worse. Excited to see what the change brings!

Where are you Chris Thompson? You blow up our email over an AMA announcement and now our company has been taken over and you are nowhere to be found. I guess what happened last night isn't important for the reps?

We obviously don't count as we aren't "true" Vivus employees. We are just the ones selling the drug to turn a profit. Figures.

Heard only the top 1/3 possibly rolled over. Bottom feeder 2/3s gone.

Does this make anyone else nervous?

Mr. Astrue said, "We intend to move quickly on our four main goals: 1) expand use of Qsymia through targeted patient and physician education; 2) find the right partner for Qsymia; 3) quickly create a pathway for approval in Europe; and 4) eliminate expenses that are not essential to expanding use of Qsymia. We are thrilled to have an executive of Tony Zook's caliber already pushing hard on these four goals."

    Makes me excited.

Hey, i am just like you. I have hated everything that has happened lately. Most of all i hate what everyone who worked so hard to bring qsymia to life has had to go through. But it is what it is and we are where we are.... I Love Leeland and everyone I know here, but he would be the first to tell you it is time to move forward.

I am excited to see "targetd physicain education" that means a sales force and commitment comercial activity, "finding the right partner" means facing the reality of market demands and doing whatever it takes to be successful, moving to europe only means greater success and long term vision for developing the brand and market but balanced with the responsibility of budgeting the balance sheet. NO - Qsymia is not where we thought it would be but neither is the market place. But it will be. And these priorities are exactly the path to get us there.

    Lets move forward.

    Agreed, and well put.

But hoping there is some form of communication on plans for the PDI sales force. Not necessarily will the top performers be rolled into Vivus (doubt that would happen anytime soon, if at all) but will they even keep us around - period. I'm not at home office, but from the viewpoint of field sales there doesn't seem to be a lot of unnecessary spending to promote the product. We seem to have about as bare bones of a product launch as I've seen, and many reps took cuts in base for the opportunity to launch this drug. Many of us still want to be here, I hope we have that opportunity.

well they just re-started all the dinner programs and waiting room progrma in my territory in the last two weeks again, so clearly its investment time. I think they waited for retail pharamcies - which makes sense.

I think this whole proxy thing was a BOD and CEO shake up - they still need Qsymia to grow. And that means a sales force.
