Pretty sure you need to go back and read it again. It does NOT say 1.5 in sales force reduction. It says 1.5 in SG&A reduction.

So what exactly does that entail?

Selling: Cost of Sales, which includes salaries, advertising expenses, rent, and all expenses and taxes directly related to producing and selling product

General: General operating expenses and taxes that are directly related to the general operation of the company, but don't relate to the other two categories.

Administration: Executive salaries and general support and all associated taxes related to the overall administration of the company

SG&A is a broad term. It's not exclusive to sales force. So quit your doom and gloom, go find another company to harass, bc you are not wanted here. If you are currently with Pernix, you shouldn't be...and if you were laid off or fired, you need to move on.

Wow you're one naive SOB. Trust me on this - the end of the year will bring a "realignment" where they realize that the specialty / primary care markets don't need to be split. Our good ole CEO has made huge (necessary) slashes to get rid of unnecessary administration expenses. Anybody who doesn't have their head in the sand knows that the easiest way to back up this promise he made to shareholders is to cut personnel. We are very lean everywhere except the field. Tell me this.....where else are we gonna cut 1.5 in SG&A genius? Wake up you fucktard

1.5 mill in one qtr is 6 mill annually. There is no way to make that steep a cut without cutting the sales force. If you know a way for MP to cut 6 mill of SG&A without cutting the sales force, he'd probably welcome your feedback. Fact is, the promises he is making to the reps are polar opposites to the promises he's making to the street.

Yes and he will keep the promises he made to the street. If he privately said he would make these cuts then it wouldn't be a big deal. But the fact he made the comment to shareholders makes me worry. They will absolutely hold his feet to the fire. Lets face it, there is nowhere else to make cuts and cutting reps is easy - cut salary and benefits adds up fast.

There is still a lot of cutting he can do that does not include sales reps. Say what you want but so far he has been honest about the crappy company he inherited from Max and Collins and his plan to fix it.

Keep believing what you wish, but we all know there's nowhere else to cut.

He has no one to blame for the status of the company, but himself. As Chairman of the Board, the buck stops with him.

I really wish you were right. Trust me I don't want to have to find another job. But the truth of the matter is that MP has been very smart and made a lot of necessary cuts in wasteful spending. Unfortunately that's still not enough. Tell me what else he can cut. I'd love to think there is another way to make a huge dent in that promise he made to the street.

I wouldn't say he's cut ALL wasteful spending. He's still taking good care of himself, and his right hand man Coop.
