Jane Scott is the Houston Manager. She is extremely ignorant and difficult to work with. Everyone on our team (including the new people) understand our business better than she does. She is consistently ranked last of the last performance wise against all of the other DM's . I think she's 26 out of 26. I can't imagine who on earth would consider her "good to work for". This district has good reps, but never performs well compared to the other US districts. Leadership, hmmmm??? I'm gonna go with yes, since everyone did better before she was around.

I saw this & couldn't resist, I had to respond. I don't work for Vistakon or any of JnJ's family of companies but may consider new employment opportunity with JnJ in the future. I am currently in a sales position for a med device company which has lots of moving parts. So it is very important to manage my time well, prioritize appointments, & stay well organized. My question is, why on earth would you drive 5 hours for one account? Hopefully you have other accounts in the area other than just Wal-Mart. And if not, your time is best spent calling on several accounts (that are top referrals of your product) that are near each other & closer to home. Wouldn't it make more sense to do that than spend 5 hours just driving? I am not familiar with the JnJ & Vistakon culture but I have been in sales long enough to know that if you work hard, (yes I said it, you actually have to work in sales) & you are meeting or exceeding your goals & quotas, then obviously you are doing something right. My manager does not keep an eye on me every second of the day because she knows I'm out there busting my butt! And quite honestly, if you consistently hit your numbers & you are a top rep, it doesn't matter how you do the job and this includes not having to drive 5 hours for a Wal-Mart! I don't know what your required number of sales calls per day but I'm guessing most places require at least 7. My company require 8-12 per day. Driving 5 hours one way, if you do the math equates to 10 hours of doing nothing but driving. You obviously need to look at your territory & re-prioritize.

There's not a perfect company out there & we all have our reasons for complaining. For the most part I love what I do. Is there something I don't like about My job? Absolutely! I can name a few but the pros outweigh the cons. Most people will not go out of their way to post about something they like or happy with. But you can bet they will go to the ends of the earth to make sure the world knows how much something sucks. Bottom line, not all sales positions/companies are a good fit for everyone. There are lots of negative things said about the company I work for on here such as the pay sucks, poor benefits, horrible managers, etc... Yes the pay was entry level when I started but as soon as I got my numbers up, I received pay increases left & right. Sure you can make a decent living working 9-5 as a sales rep at my job but its what you do that separates a mediocre rep from a super rep. I say this because one of my friends joined my company a couple years ago, he complained about the low base pay, the territory sucked, etc..... Come to find out, he only worked from 10-2!! Go figure!

first of all you sound very naive. It is not what you do here but who you know as it is all highly political. They would probably never hire you for many reasons. It is difficult to explain unle. You are in this culture. More people want out of here than want to come here.
