In our operating company a move has begun to put all reps over fifty on PIPS unless they're favorites or "special friends" with their management no matter how good or bad their performance. You can win President's Circle and still be fired. For younger reps like me its fun to watch.

Well the two reps in our district who were put on PIPS were young, so don't worry yourself "young rep" you will never make it to retirement here.

It's fun for you because you are a douche. The whole age thing is BS. Younger reps are all about where the next party is and 99% of ALL reps in pharma wouldn't know a full days' work if it bit them in the ass. No offense, that's how the industry is set up. It's a house of cards built on which frat is in charge and which frat you are part of. Your frat's in power, what a superstar rep you are. Your frat's not in power, you suck and need to be squeezed until you quit or can be PIPd. Like the one poster said, "follow the money"

Our biotech division is run like the mafia. They'll knock you off just because some ABM feels "dissed" because you didn't fake ooh and aah over his family photos like some bimbo sitting next to you in some meeting.

    Disgruntled? BOYCOTT JnJ Products

My position was eliminated 8 months before I turned 55. Initially I was disappointed not to have access to the company store, JnJ matching funds for charities and the better health coverage I was working toward. I find great peace avoiding the purchase of any JnJ product. Banana Boat makes a superior sunblock. Generic Ibuprofen is less costly and works the same. Never buy any of the Neutrogena products...on and on...I often talk other patrons at retail from buying JnJ products. They have lost over $3,000 in annual JnJ purchases in my household and over $50,000 of my friends and familiy's. So shorty sighted of this company to treat loyal employees so shabbily.

54 and 24 years of service. No retirement. No "bridging". And no "2 years of severance". Keep dreaming if you're waiting for that one.
