The Oregon Ducks have been so over-hyped all season long. We have had to watch them in their super flashy uniforms beat infinitely defensively inferior teams. They have been the darling of ESPN and heralded as the team that will bring down the SEC. Now I know what some of you naysayers are going to say. "Well BAMABOY they whupped up on an SEC Team at home." Yes they beat up on a basement SEC dweller team. Tennessee is a shadow of it's former self but have improved during the season. What is the lesson we should all learn from this? Oregon cannot hang with good defensive teams. Mariota is a great Quarterback when no one is putting any pressure on him. If the Ducks played in more defensively sound conferences like the SEC/Big 10 or ACC they would not be a top contender. Quarterbacks like AJ McCarron at Alabama should have more consideration for the Heisman since he has to play against the best defenses in the country. Stanford is a great team (One of the best in the country) and have the best defense in the PAC-12. If Oregon played 4 or 5 teams per year with a defense like Stanford they would not get all of the undeserved publicity they get. Oregon: Hero in October, Zero in November....Case Closed...
