Having sacrificed so much for this once great company especially over the past 12 months, I had been driven to the point of despair whilst waiting for the death knell. The day finally arrived and I was given the news. I feel as though I have been selected as a sacraficial lamb sent to the slaughter house so that some executives can continue to reap the rewards not available to the rest of us. Termination day + 3 days and I am still yet to break the news to my wife and children, where to go from here I have no idea and I fear what lays ahead for someone my age. To all my friends I leave behind stay strong and do not let the ba$%ards steal your dignity. Karma is a bitch!!

Hang in there. One door closes....you know the rest. It will all work out in the end. Like you said..Karma is a bitch..and God is good.

I wish you success and happiness down the road and I feel for you!!!!!! Your feelings in your thread are justifiable that is for sure! Give yourself a few more days if you need to collect your thoughts. Darn this makes me so mad to see this kind of thing happen over and over to many fine people! All I can say is hang in there the best that you can and if you sacrificed so much then this means your are a quality worker so there WILL BE a better company out there for you. Maybe you will not have to sacrifice so much of your self with your next job and maybe you will end up having more time with your family? Wouldn't that be great???? It sounds like YOU deserve better and someday you will realize this but for now you have every right to grieve for a little while and then "get up" and show how great you are to the next company!!!! Good luck and sorry to say good-bye to ANOTHER great worker. Bottom line is that it is HR's loss in the end of it all but unfortunately you are taking the blow right now.....awful!!!!

Hey there, I actually work for that other rental bed company. I have been around since it was US against YOU ! HaHa, or at least it seemed like we were the only two out there. I just wanted to comment about Karma. She is not always a bitch but most often she is fair. And she is patient too, sometimes the payback is determined long past the point of redemption. We are going through terrible times at good old K as well. 18 years under my belt here, the majority of them great. BUT the Antichrist has landed and I pray for a lay off. Good luck to you, and prayers have worked for ME before, just sayin, not preaching

Sorry to hear this. However, I feel that you are blessed in this. Take some time off, get your thoughts together. Enjoy some free time with your wife and kids, real free time where you are not thinking of that hostile work environment. I sat at my desk one day with my head in my hands, ready to just up and quit and a message from an old friend came to me out of the blue that changed my life. I have been so happy since that day and now live in a BEAUTIFUL place, make decent money and have plenty of free time to spend with my family. I spent most of my savings during this stage but it has been well worth it.
It is definately not the end of the World even though it may feel like it at the moment. You are just another Hill-Rom casualty, and anyone else reading this that are still there, this is going to happen to you too, just give it time. Please come back in a bit and update us on your progress, I am willing to bet you are going to come back with nothing but good news. Good Luck my friend.

Partner, take a step back and you will see that this is the best thing that could of happen. HR makes the Titanic seem like a dream vacation. Stryker has taken over as the market leader, Linet is moving up fast, Amico is about to launch a bed, and SW will not be far behind. At this point HR is just trying to hold on to what they have. Clearly the leaders (LOL) are in this for the short run, and that is what you have left at HR, a short run. If you still work here you are stupid. I left 8 months ago and I could not be happier, and you know why I left? I left because my customers were looking to replace CC beds and all I had to offer was a TCSport, which was over priced and exactly like the same product they were using. When the great grandson of the owner has to leave, you know things are bad, so get a clue, buck up, and go make a difference with a company that values talent!

    Guys,

Hill-Rom is a turd of a company, living in the past. They have lost on every conceivable level. The market share lead...gone, high quality...gone, innovation...gone. You can't have weak sales leadership and weak marketing and poor quality. Camelot ain't never coming back. Get out now. Trust me the air is cleaner and prospects are better on the outside. You will be amazed!

This is a Hill-Rom message board... the casket business is no longer part of Hill-Rom/Hillenbrand Industries. Why don't you go to their website and see how they're doing?

If you feel better at Hill-Rom than outside, then you obviously are part of the problem and somehow fell through the cracks and got laid off. Boo Hoo... You know that if you grovel and beg hard enough, they will take you back. You will just have to give up that much more of your soul. Good Luck either way.

Two weeks minimum, plus one week for every year of abuse. So if you were there 5 years you would get app 7 weeks. Plus any unused vacation time for the current year. I believe the vaca policy is different in a couple of states.
