What is implant sales like

    Interviewing for an implant sales position. I have never sold dental, currently in a different field, have been in sales for over ten years. What's it like? Whats the hardest part of the sale etc? It doesn't seem like there are too many companies in this market

    Unless you have a good track record of B2B sales with small business owners, then transferring those skills to implant sales may prove difficult. Good luck.

    I think you should tell the hiring manager that you don't think their are too many implant companies in the market. He will hire you on the spot because that's what the holier than thou Nobel reps are brainwashed to think.

    You should have gotten into implant sales 10 years ago when you could actually make money.

    You missed the Dental Implant Market as a viable career move by about 10 years.

    Why? I was told at plan I'd be well over 100k. I'm currently making around 80.

    Any input is appreciated.

    Yes AT PLAN you all make 100K. Chances of not making plan working here...about 100%

    Here is how it works and you decide what you want to do. You are given a number for the year some time in Feb. It is usually 5-15% over prior years sales. No matter what you did the year before. So if you are 85% or 125% you get the same increase. If they tell you anything different they are lying to your face. So, let's say you sell $10 this year and make $1 (10%) in commission. Next year you will have to sell $11 to make the same $1. That is a 10% increase to "hitting plan". So in reality you are getting a decrease in pay the larger you make your territory. The larger your number, the smaller your commission "multiplier". Nobel Biocare is a 3-5 year sales job max. If you want to make more than 115k a year you will need to look elsewhere. Not saying it is bad pay, but you are a number. They don't give a sh-t except about you hitting your number and kissing the ass of the guy/girl ahead of you. Just my personal opinion.
