I am interviewing for the VDC position this week, and want to know what the current standards for work/life balance would be? Hours? I was also told base would be 70-75k with 15k a quarter at plan, is this achievable under their new business model?
    I appreciate any feedback!

The VDC is a new "hybrid" roles of the previous DPC (equip) and LDC (lab sales).

For the base, that sounds slightly high, although they are in the process of raising bases, and I have heard new hires are getting paid the "new model".

On the bonus side, its more like 12k at plan. The comp plan does include accelerators so it is possible to have very nice checks, but there are A LOT of tenured reps here currently that are not going to come close to goal. When the new VDC role was rolled out it we got new territories and accounts and it is going to take time to get back to blowing out the checks.

So to answer your question, is it possible, yes. Probable no.

Be prepared to learn A LOT on your own, there isn't the time to properly train all the new hires. Also, be prepared to work 12-14 hr days, and not seeing the payoff for a while.

I am a newer employee and I love this company. No suits stealing your ideas, true people wanting to work, cool call point- no formal training but what you want to learn is up to you. Company is more than happy to let you design your plan. If you are motivated to learn and know a similar industry it is easy to pick up and fun.

I am interviewing for the Pittsburgh Market for this position. Told the base was 70-75 and it sounds like you were spot on with the 12k per quarter commish plan. Are the 12-14 hr. days an honest assessment? Is this position a difficult one to pickup. B2B and pharma/device background, so I am confident it will be a not so difficult transition...

Will be interviewing with BL in Pittsburgh for a 2.5 hr interview. Insights on the manager and what to expect in interview? Also, based on some other posts is this a position worth pursuing? Pharma/device/b2b sales background but is this hard to pickup and are the payoffs worth it? thanks for an honest answers...
