Eli Lilly is in midst of layoffs, generally expecting many more next year.

What is the status for other Companies in Canada?

At one time, after the mergermania at the end of last century, all bigpharmafia companies practiced what someone called MSFoMP (Multiple Sales Forces of Mass Promotion). Both in Canada and USA every major Co had everal sales forces pushing their same shit; same drug to same doctors, over and over and....Some had 11 sales forces, like AstraZeneca for instance.
This is over and now most of these WMD, bigpharmafia version are being destructed or should we say self-destructed.
So if you think any of the big ones will grow, I have a bridge to sell you.
Advice for all young people: due to globalization the western countries are doomed. The rich will get super rich and beyond while you the regular folks will be reduced to just barely living. The inequality which is obvious at every corner of this once great country will only continue to rise and even you in this bigpharmafia biz will be reduced to size sooner or later. For now you are still well paid but this will end sooner or later. The only reason you are paid so well, is the fact that bigpharmafia has been looting the health systems everywhere to such and extent that they are awashed in loot/$$$, so even you get a better deal than say, Walmart slaves.
The advice is: you stand up for yourselves soon or you'll be reduced to nothing as they are in those very countries where your masters are manufacturing goods they sell you for little money, thus they pay you little. This is globalization at its worse or best, depending on which side you are standing. Do not make a mistake to stand on the other side unless you are one of them. Once they push the people everywhere too far, the new French style "party" will begin. Don't get cought at the wrong side.

From what I can see all companies are shrinking with the odd exception - that being Actavis, Bayer, Celgene, and Gilead.
