Unemployment

Does anyone know if we can file unemployment now? Or wait until January 2nd? Sorry that we are in this situation. Good luck to everyone!

 

you have to wait until your official end date with Santarus - the state will verify.

 

Verify what? The last day was 12/20 wasn't it

 

But you got a paycheck that reflected time of employment through 12/31, right?

 

We are still getting paid until March 6th. Collect unemployment benefits after March 6th.

 

Even if you are getting paid file. You need to file within so many days of seperation.

If you received a lump sum equal to employment through March, you can file once you get the money, or if you are getting checks until March, you should wait until then.

 

Rather than rely on info here, I'd just check with your own state's Unemployment website or office to clarify. Some states may have different guidelines. Hang in there!
