I am looking to apply for this position and would appreciate some honest answers.
I have worked in animal health for over 10 years now and have not had had much interaction with anyone from Royal Canin. I have read through some of the posts on here, which makes me think twice about applying, but I do realize that this is cafepharma and these post need to be taken with a grain of salt.

    1) salary pay range, are bonuses/commission generally made ?
    2) why has this position been open since July?
    3) how often do managers ride with the territory managers?
    4) have territory managers in New England applied for this position and been rejected?

This would be a move for my family so your answers are appreciated, cheers.

I wouldn't move my family for this company. It's not secure.
They just booted the VP of sales, so it's an improvement...but you know...growing pains.

Unless you are miserably desperate (and understandably, you have a family to support), I would think twice.

If you are already in animal health, why would go sell dog food? <cough, loser>

    From what I've been told:

    1. Salary: You 'may' make close to (or slightly over) 6 figures with salary and bonus at the end of the year. It depends on your region's growth. The reps are paid quite low for outside sales- even in animal health- and I've been told this poo applies to management as well. It shows.
    2. The position has been open since July because there are unstable circumstances in the company right now, which you don't seem to be concerned with. The person who was a VP of sales has been dismissed and replaced recently, and they are lost over the simplest of operations. Your "insight" will not change this. These people are idiots.
    3. Managers are on a constant rotation riding with reps, because traditionally, they want you to whip crack and bully people- not inspire or coach them. Maybe that will change?
    4. I have no idea about the north east. As explained: Simple decisions that seem like common sense do not go very well at RC.

If this is an environment you'd still like to pursue, then you are probably a great fit.
