3i vs Zimmer manager/ sales rep Mandatory cage match:

Each territory rep and managemant counterpart will participate in a 'winner take all' cage match with their intra-company competitor. Only 1 participant walks out of the cage. Any weapon is acceptable. All genders participate. No Exceptions.

    The winner keeps their job.

    The loser gets buried.

All accidental death policies are nullified. Each participant must have last will & testament on file with next-of-kin notification completed. No blank lines.

ALL will participate. Management goes first.

    A schedule will be posted.

Zimmer will dump their implants for 3i or use them as a low cost alternative since ID has killed Zimmer dental. Considering this merger was all about the medical division, the only people who need to be concerned is the Zimmer dental reps and the BioMet med device reps.

That is the rumor. Looks like 3i reps will walk away (for the most part) unscathed. Sure, there will be some favoratism on the Zimmer side of things, especially with their RM's and a select few reps in certain markets. But for the most part, the Zimmer dental reps seem to be the ones on the hook here.

Makes sense when you think about it. One would think that they would protect their own, but this is about combining the best talent of the two companies. If you are strong in your area as a Zimmer rep, then you should be ok.

In what world is a $40 base and 5% of sales better than Zimmers comp plan?? At plan with a $1.5 million territory, youre making you make 115K. Unless youre a 3i rep with millitary bases not primarily placing Nobel, you dont have a $1.5 million territory. Zimmers STM's have a base at least $20k higher with close to 10K per quarter at plan. I dont work for either company but it would seem to me the dollars are the same. I personally think the comp plan sux at both companies dispite this supid argument. As far as im concerned, Zimmer should take the best of the best and can afford to do so. I know reps from both companies and when 3i reps are forced to comply with Zimmer policy...well it wont be pretty. Simply put, I win.

Obviously, you have never endured a dental corprate merger. If you have and still think this way, well let's just say that some people just deserve to be poor.

    You are one of them.

Youre a fool if you believe what youre saying. You obviously work for 3i and are clouded by immature arrogance. Zimmer bought biomet not the other way around. Medical will have nothing to do with dental nor do they care. You obviously have never met Mr. Boy or the rest of Zimmers management team but you will. They dont give a shit about you or what you did yesterday. Considering Zimmer has statistically the same market share as 3i with a 15 year old implant, no millitary contracts, half the speakers, an inability to give product away and none of your technology, your ass better be puckering. You can say whatever you want about whats coming but make no mistake rookie, its your head on the block. You better figure out real quick that in less that a year you will be working for Zimmer so I would shut the hell up and make as many friends as possible.

"I win"....I thought you dont work for either company, jackass. You must be one of the managers from Zimmer. As far as the comp plan, I would rather make a 5% commission whether or not I hit plan or make nothing when I am 90% to plan. How many reps are actually hitting plan at Zimmer per quarter? Also a $60k base with 10k per quater leads to 100k which is less than that 115k you quote that a 3i rep makes. Lastly, 3 reps make quarterly bonuses on top of that 5% commission so you could really make out. Plain and simple, Zimmer has been long known for low wages and bad morale (from your VP of sales to all management) in the implant world, there is no hiding from it.

Typical dumbass 3i fag. I win because I'm not with either company you fool and you dont make $115. I assume youre referring to area managers...whatever, you made my point. Good luck with Zimmers comp plan where you actually have to perform to get paid.

Why would any loser look on cafepharma at this thread if you are not with either company?

Oh I dont know....maybe to mess with you or maybe because this buy out gives Zimmer Dental 14 - 15% of the global implant market. News flash, everyone but you looks at other threads on here. What a dumbass question. Good luck with your new company idiot, not that you'll be there long.

Having been an actual rep for 3i, I can confirm that everything you hear about 3i is true. The pay sucks, the implants fail, and you are lucky if you don't get an STD at their meetings. Reps banging doctors, reps getting impregnated by doctors, married reps banging each other, and management bank-rolling doctors at strip clubs. HR does a great job of paying people off, but the rumors are true and the industry is well aware of what a shit show 3i is. Good luck 3i reps and management! You had your fun, took your Valtrex, and somewhere a tanning salon is very excited to hire a juiced up, overly tan, sex offender to clean the semen off their beds.

Haha! I know exactly who got impregnated by a surgeon! That was epic! You can't promise better customer service than bearing your customer's children! Way to "spread" your sales skills!

Woah. I sure hope that resulted in a quickie abortion.

I wouldn't wish that gene pool on anyone. A dentist and a dental implant peddler.

It could only be worse if the dental peddler had been a used-house peddler before turning her talents and charms loose on dental.

I feel dirty just talking about it.

Kind of sad this merger is about as significant as the keystone /southern merger did....about none.

This hits the nail on the head. Two relic companies who haven't done much of anything for years.

Zimmer has been getting kicked in the nuts since Jerry and Implant Direct started up almost a decade ago- and by every other internal hex knock-off company you can imagine.

3i's most significant contributions have come in the form of a "How not to" manual:
    - How not to have a great surface
    - How not to make a tapered implant
    - How not to make tapered drills
    - How not to handle a product issue (aka blame the clinicians)
    - How not to keep solid reps
    - How not to make custom Zirconia abutments

Biomet was 3i's downfall- they haven't been the same since.

The real question now is- which team is going to be sent looking for jobs? Which manufacturing facility will close?

My bet is that 3i gets packed up and shipped off the Carlsbad so that Zimmer can bring some order to that shitshow. The only question is, is there a garbage dump big enough for all the 3i failed implants and used conforms that fill the Palm Beach HQ?
