POC position sells glucose testing meters and blood gas analyzers to hospitals, and coag testing meters to clinics and distributors. There used to be two separate sales forces as the call points were either hospital or doctor clinics and distributors. Both sales forces just went through a 50% reduction in force with many very good people let go. The new sales force is going to go through tough teething problems as the salespeople from the different forces don't know each others jobs, there are product issues, and the new management has no clue how bad it is in the field. You will end up doing a ton of trouble shooting while scrambling for sales. Already this year management has said to be prepared for further cuts. Morale sucks as you can imagine and the sales goals are huge and have been unaltered despite the decimation of the sales forces. Currently, this is a cluster fuck.
