Lab is truly no different than Pharma or Medical Sales in that it is all about developing the business. What is different, are the markets. Now, when 1 blanket formula for growing business, setting goals, etc. is utilized, there will be inconsistencies. This does not mean that someone has failed. What works in the Indiana Market won't work in Florida, and is completely different than what works in Utah. Where there is a disconnect is how the company represented the position versus realities of the market. Until they realize that not one formula to grow the business works for every market, and allows the Territory Manager to truly do what they were hired to do (as they know their market), there will continue to be what you perceive as "pissed off" or disgruntled people. Bottom line-the company needs to look at each territory market and set realistic goals, expectations, etc.

Go start your own business if you are such an entrepreneur and think you know how to run a business. Heaven forbid that you try and follow the guidelines and best practices of the company that employs and pays you and has seen how it's so successful! Glad you are such an expert so quickly. Sounds like a big fat excuse to me that you just don't know how to sell something this tough

I do have a very successful business, and would never manage in this manner. I always followed the guidelines at this pathetic company, and to correct your mis-perception, selling lab is not tough. I was an expert straight out of training, so to me this was very simple. Sorry it must have taken you so long! I am going to continue to enjoy these little chats though. Cheers!

Besides, I get to now sit around as my revenue flows in, fake my silly RUN Reports, and service my accounts. I can't believe how easy this job is. I enjoy creative writing 101. Heck….everyone here does it! The managers are too stupid to figure this out….oh oh….that was my inside voice.

Agreed! It's like working at romper room... and everyone is treated like children. The managers are so insecure they don't give you room to breath! About ready to go postal on my manager soon w their suffocating treatment.

This is interesting. I'm not experiencing the same issues but maybe it's because I'm having a lot of success. James has supported me fully and I don't feel suffocated at all. Perhaps it's a performance issue? I like the company and the people. There's always room for improvement but that will be the case in any company. I know I'm not perfect either so I'm not going to through stones. I've made mistakes and received support through them so as much as you're bitter, there are a lot of us who are not. The reports we have to do are nothing compared to where I was before so to me, I'm catching a break. Things are changing and I'm glad upper management and the board started listening.

Not James or Minda. It's interesting though that you immediately think that it has to be a manager responding to you. Obviously very defensive. It's quite possible that there are many of us that don't have issues like you do. Atherotech isn't perfect but many of us like it here and frankly, don't want bitter people venting anonymously like cowards without someone else's perspective.

If our managers were supportive, valuable , competent and able to impact our development than we would not have a 46% turn over. Facts are facts and that is we the board has taken action. These managers that have no real lab experience need to go, pharma and the thermo people just have no idea about the lab sales side of things.

I'll be happy to say how I feel to someone else directly. The point is, this place is a shit show! Glad you like it here, but there is much better. Time will tell if things improve.
