Yet another lab in the market. Anyone know anything about these guys? Heard they were started by some disgruntled manager from Millennium. These companies are like a virus that keeps spreading.

You should look at the Anatomic Path market. Labs everywhere. Pathologists buy some equipment on loan or borrowed money and try to start a lab. Half these guys have no name recogniton or any "great schooling" behind them Then they go a little gray area in billing and gifting and slowly chip away at your business. then two years latter they come to your lab and say buy me buy me.

Or they go the route of CBL and after starting to fail in a crappy business model, try to pay off the doctor with a copy-cat form of what US LABS and Clarient do, but with a little "Gifting" to the local doctors....Oh and lets not even talk about Emerge..Pathline..Histo..whatever they call themselves these days.

    Avee...

I don't know about the Millennium part, but they do employ one of the best scientists that used to work for Applied Biosystems (AB/Sciex)...smart woman, talented.

Who would that be? Most of the females that currently work there are adequate at best. They had some very smart, competent, and intelligent women who did work there but wised up to the company and left. It looks as though anyone there with intelligence doesn't stay around very long.

Even though this industry is ripe with all types of rumors, most seem to be circulating around this lab. Rumors of the owner still under DEA investigation, multiple pending lawsuits, Variant, Ameritox, former representatives, the list goes on...Company being sold to a large east coast medical supply company, FDA sanctions and fines coming down for their chemistry analyzer fiasco, billing impropriety's, scandalous nepotism within corporate ranks, and list keeps going. The guys running this circus are the biggest con-men around.

NEPOTISM? POSSIBLY. THE OWNER IS NOT A NICE MAN. EVERYBODY THERE IN MGT USES EVERYONE. THEY GET AWAY WITH IT BY EMPLOYING MULTIPLE FAMILY MEMBERS. THEN THE PERSON IS SUCKED IN, DRAINED OF THEIR KNOWLEDGE, TREATED LIKE SHIT AND THEN DISCARDED? NO!!!!!

USUALLY REDUCED PAY BUT WHERE ELSE IS THE PERSON TO GO WHEN THEIR WIFE, SON, AND DAUGHTER-IN-LAW ALSO WORK THERE.

ALSO, WHEN THE PRINCIPALS ARE ON THE HOT SEAT, THEY OPEN ANOTHER CORPORATION GLOBAL ANALYTICAL, SCREEN TOX, ??????? BUT INTER-TWINE ALL EMPLOYEES, ETC.. STARK? WHAT DO YOU THINK

THEY PASS THEMSELVES OFF AS HUMANITARIANS AND FAMILY ORIENTED. WANTING TO DO GOOD AND GET BACK TO OLD FASHIONED FAMILY VALUES. WHAT A CROCK. THE OWNER'S MOTTO IS OF HIS VERY OWN BELOVED IS AND DIRECT QUOTE HERE .... ' CHEAPER TO KEEP HER'. THAT ALONE SUMS UP THE TYPE OF PEOPLE RUNNING THIS SHOW

Correct. You cannot unbundle analytes for a single test.

Many labs have made this mistake early in their life cycle, when they are run by people who have no lab or billing experience.

Most of them make the mistake on GC or LC testing. The bill multiple units for the analytes tested for, even though it is one single sample prep, and one single analytical run.

Doing this on a point of care cup that costs 5 bucks, and having the doctors billing multiple units is going to be very expensive for these labs, and for the doctors...

Hope the "loan" from the Federal government was worth it. Triple damages can be levied against these people, especially since it was done with malice aforethought.

No doubt. It will be very interesting to see how things turn out for this cop. Scum always rises to the top.

Posts from X sales reps. who just could not cut it are the best. Take a good look at yourselves and why you could not cut it. Blame it on the lab and vent. Mature? Reps at avee are doing well to say the least. A company does not get purchased without months of dudilegence and auditing. Instead of placing blame after getting released by a company try selling or making some money instead of 3rd. grade excuses that can be used on every lab in business. Get out there and sell instead of making excuses. There are reasons the lab is pulling in 40K.+ samples a month. Do yourselves a favor. Stop making excuses. Anger, revenge and resentment will shorten your life so please keep it up. Just keep doing what your used to. Milk a year or two on your 3rd. or 4th. lab.

40K + samples per month? Whatever! The only business Alere can get is through inducements like "Pass Through Billing". Its really surprising a company of this size has to do these illegal schemes to survive. And we thought Millennium was dirty. Watch out, the OIG is looking

May have had 40k at one time but the idiots in charge have driven that into the ground. Santa, deliver them pink slips
