Anyone know what the severance package was for those people cut in the 1st rounds of the re-structuring?

They used SUTSM to figure out severance, it stands for Sucks Up To Senior Management.

That was funny! I had a belly chuckle. What exactly does sucking up to management entail? I'd work for you anyway. Lol.

It depends on the manager. If it is CW, being a stuck up prick might get you there. If it is MF, hanging out drinking guinness late night helps (operation Drink a lot). If it is SO, idolization helps. If it is SF only 1 gender has a chance.

When I was let go, I was given a year's salary and had to sign a no compete clause for two years. Found something similar in a different part of the laboratory so non compete N/A

Seriously, there is no way that a year of severence will be given these days. At the most, a week for every one or two years of service. Unfortunately, this is life these days. No company is loyal to their employees these days. Think ....raises???

If you even get severance these days, you're lucky. Nothing is norm any more.

    More layoffs this week
    Keep cutting David
As long as costs cut are more than sales lost, the numbers look good

    Reps are really expensive
More inside sales and more distribution channels please

    wait for it
unless you are in the traditional Qiagen life science role of inside sales or SAM you are undergoing change right now. Qiagen is pulling back on their MDx investment and focusing on life science and their core competencies.

With the exception of the TB market, but hurry up there competition is coming to town

Good point. I have no idea who my quantiferon counterparts are, they are completely separate from the rest of us. But they appear to be growing while our side of the business is in decline.

It was Chuck's fault earlier in the year for missing the mark = fired
It was Deepak's fault we missed the mark in q4 = fired
We are running out of scapegoats.

Who's head is on the chopping block for missing q1 numbers?
