Possible Updated Clinical Results on Medivation and Provenge Sequencing (Per FDA Website)

The trail results we updated to the FDA for the Ztandi and Provenge sequencing study last week per the FDA website. That could mean that we might see interim data on how these 2 drugs work together. Remember the big prize is the ability to use Provenge along with the JNJ or Medivation product for potentially superior clinically results versus using them individually. The clinical data that came out last week from Medivation was updated on the FDA website on January 12th so its possible that we see some data on how these 2 drugs perform when sequenced together. This is the Homerun potential if Provenge can successfully be used in combination with other products and extend survival with low side effects. This would be good information to have available if Medivation was interested in buying Dendreon.*

It may certainly be better for patients, but it is not a "big prize" if the prices have to be cut on the individual drugs to make the combination therapy affordable for the healthcare system. Provenge alone is already pushing the limits of what reimbursement will allow so to add in a course of Zytiga or Xtandi would be difficult without significant price concessions, something neither J&J or Medivation will be keen to provide.

 

Study means nothing as PROVENGE will cease to exist past 1Q15
