"Sources" also said there was a deal over a year ago when the company tried to sell itself. We know that was bs. Then "sources" also said there was a deal during the quiet period late last year. We now know those "sources" weren't correct and they were in quiet period because they filed for bankruptcy. I laugh at "sources" from posters. In the even that "sources" are correct and you used that source to buy or short shares that is insider trading. The SEC would then have to go to IP addresses to track down these clowns.

My source believes that Valeant is a bottom feeder run by a sociopath, and that they are significantly overpaying for a piece of garbage. Maybe we should put our respective sources in a room and let them fight it out in a cage battle to the death?

It is over.....no one will show up on Thursday to raise bid.

It could be a while. There is a better chance that John Johnson will drop enough weight to look decent in a Speedo. Rip van Winkle only managed a 20 year nap; are you out to break his record?

I guess you can go back to bed. Auction is cancelled, and Valeant bought the company for $400 million. It is good that the waiting is over, but it sucks that a lot of decent people from Dendreon will be working for Valeant. Best of luck to all who stuck it out.

I am surprised they got a bid at all, let alone one for $400 million. It think there is a case to be made that Provenge actually has a negative economic value to its owner, but yes, truly a disaster. At least the treatment has helped some patients.

Unfortunately, even those who stuck it out will be let go by Valeant. Valeant has no intention of keeping any of us. Valeant does not pay salaries like the salaries we are paid here. They are known for being cheap when it comes to compensation. The deal is expected to close by the end of the month. Based on who I know at Valeant and the information he told me, it is lijely they will let our people go slowly over the next few months. Good luck to all.

It'll be an absolute ANCHOR on Valeant's bottom line. They'll pour a couple billion into it hoping for eventual profitability, and it'll never happen. It'll wither and die, won't even have divestment value for them at the end. Total sucker's play.

    Where's the pumpers NOW!!!

Wow, you don't know much about Valeant do you? The only billions they will invest will be in pennies as their R&D spend for a pharma company is laughable. They spend less than 3% of sales on R&D while most companies are north of 10%. Heck, there are low tech medical device companies that spend more than that.

You are right about the anchor on the bottom line though. At least they can sell the anchor and chain for scrap metal value.

Invest meant the purchase price of $400MM, and the recurring cost to keep the business afloat for the next two years, genius, NOT R&D.

We will be lucky to get anything more than two weeks severance now. Dendreon's federally -filed ERISA statement, and it's statutes surrounding the treatment of workers during layoffs, and the generosity contained within, are no longer valid once the bottom-feeding chop-shop that is Valeant takes over.

Wait a minute! What happened to all JE's statements and insinuations at POA that raises and promotions would go on as planned?!?!

What is to become of that laughable folly JDimwit, JE, whom you promised recently to promote yet ANOTHER level past his competency to "Commissar de' Provenge," when he realizes that the free ride on his counterpart's performance whilst kissing your arse is over, and that he'll actually have to attempt to speak to a doctor at his next rep job, as that's all he's qualified for, to sell product for the first time in three years!! Heck, probably his LIFE!!!

What is JDimwit to think of you, as he curls up on his basement floor, naked and crying profusely in the fetal position, at the base of his carefully constructed JE-Shrine, composed of mounds of greasy black hair clippings, piles of Groucho-Marx looking gag glasses, and stacks of unread leadership books, all drenched in soft candlelight?

Have you no SOUL, sir?! Have you no HONOR?!

JD isn't going to be crying anywhere! He's too dumb to figure the con out! He probably swallowed every fantasy that JE spoon-fed him as late as this afternoon, like "J&J's going to purchase Valeant next week so they'll both be rescued," or that "there's a place at the head table in Valeant for both of them," or that they're both "good leaders." The only question is if that control-freak JE makes Jimbo put on a diaper, baby-bonnet, and sit in a high-chair sucking his thumb when he feeds him. Because we all know JD would do it if asked. Heck, he probably voluntarily does it just for brownie points.

Hopefully they'll tandem-interview for the next gig in device like Brennan Huff and Dale Doback did in the movie "Stepbrothers," and get out of oncology altogether. And take that blowhard, richly-rich, Florida-based leprechaun with them.

    Valeant won't even do that.
