Is sale really happening?

I have been hearing it is a sure thing for the last year. I work in IT and I have an opportunity to take a job at another company. This job is nothing like it was but my worry is it could always be worse somewhere else. If I believed a sale was truly imminent I would take this new job in a New York minute. It is hard to tell on these boards if anyone is really in the know or just angry people trying to scare other employees over a personal grudge. It's a message board so I expect a certain level of people on both sides to be trolls but I would like some real information. Should I leave and move on or just tough this out?

I hear ya. I do know that some company, either LabCorp or someone else is looking at the books and agreements PAML has in place with vendors and clients. Sale will probably happen eventually, unless its too hard to divest with all the partners.

Rumors aside, regardless of what piece of the PAML pie you are in, you can likely see the red flags for yourself. Look around and ask yourself a few questions about what you see:

    1. Are they providing the tools, resources and support you need to succeed? Or are they slowly eliminating these things?
    2. Are they investing their time and resources into areas that make sense for PAML operations? or are they doing things that make no sense for the way this enterprise works? (a sign that these things are efforts to align with someone else's business model.) 3. Are they investing in keeping their quality employees? Or are they taking the mass exodus lightly? Are they replacing these employees with experienced, qualified people? or are they just replacing them with entry level "place fillers". (if they replacing them at all.) 4. Has the leadership modeled any of the mission values? Do you see their direction as bettering the lives of the patients, their employees and the community? Or do their actions speak only of personal gain or indifference to these important values.
    5. Have the executives modeled good money management in these tough economic times? or do you see them flaunting excessive expenditures while employees continue to make poor wages?

Business 101: Any company planning for long term success understands the necessity of investing in obtaining and keeping quality employees and providing them with quality resources to pave their way to success. Its been 5 years under the current leadership. That is long enough to have stabilized after the change and show true colors. What colors do you see for yourself? In all these threads, I've not yet seen any posts indicting solid evidence for plans of long term success.

There are no plans for long term success. Every red flag you've mentioned is exactly what PAML is doing. Whatever PAML's vision was in the beginning is no more. The current decision makers at PAML care not about the patients, clients or employees. Sadly, they're only interested in making more "secret" bonuses and increasing their own wages and the expense of everything else.

I'm very disappointed with the direction that this once great company to work for has taken. Nothing coming from HR really surprises me anymore. Do you suppose this is FV's last conquest before retiring? Do you think the employee survey will happen this year? Is this still one of the top 100 employers to work for? I don't think so. Sorry for ranting, just so frustrated and sick of it.

There is no information to middle management, staff, or online. SLT is saying all the right things. Does anybody have any information?

Who really cares anymore. FV's ridiculous vision has made PAML irrelevant. It will be a slow death.

Who even cares? Can't be any worse than it is now. Working at PAML is like working in a sweatbox in a third world country. Sure isn't one of the top employers anymore. I doubt we'll have the employee survey, AGAIN. Why ask what they already know? It's completely confidential, yeah right.

    The sale is off.

Management is pouring money into capital improvements like they should have several years ago. Employees still aren't being taken care of; without question that will never change.

Management still has meeting after meeting after meeting. Usually taking 10-20% of "team" into meetings. Meeting after meeting after meeting; day after day after day.

Yes Comrades, the sale is off. No self-respecting company is going to get themselves involved in this mess.

Be glad the sale is off. Who in their right mind would want to work for LabCrap. Just ask LabCrap employees. They hate their life.

But do they hate their lives as much as PAML employees? Where's that poll when we really need it??!
