Love and Other Drugs

Obviously this movie is very much exaggerated but there is a lot of underlying truth in the overall attitude of the approach the Pharma industry takes when promoting their medicines. I know it was very common in my area to throw away promotional leave behinds and shelf tackers of my competitors but did anyone ever throw away samples like he does in the movie?

 

I know a rep who was caught stealing competitor samples. She was leaving the office with them, so I assume she was going to trash them.

 

What happened to her? Was she fired or did her DSM give her a raise?

I have heard that if a Pfizer rep gets thrown out of an office the DSM applauds them for pushing the envelope.

 

Are you a government plant? NO ONE DOES THIS! I have seen folks put their literature in front of mine or samples in front of mine, but this movie is ridiculous. IF that was real, it was rare. And, yes people have pocketed samples, but this other extreme stuff is not real.
