I agree with you regarding the importance of colorectal cancer screenings. This is one of the reasons why I am a strong supporter of the Affordable Care Act (ACA; P.L. 111-148 and P.L. 111-152). Because of the ACA, millions of Americans have access to a range of preventive services, including colorectal cancer screenings, without cost-sharing.

The list of preventive benefits covered by the ACA is informed by the recommendations of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF), which is an independent panel of non-federal experts in evidence-based medicine. On October 6, 2015, the USPSTF released a new draft recommendation for colorectal cancer screening, which is an update to the USPSTF’s 2008 recommendation. In addition to listing three recommended screenings, the draft recommendation lists two alternative tests: computed tomography colonography and multitargeted stool DNA. I have noted your concerns about the USPSTF’s draft recommendation, and I will be sure to remain mindful of your views should this issue come before the Senate for consideration.

Keep the politics out of it. No matter what your affiliation is, Exact asked the tax payer for millions. That's welfare and entitlement mentality at its finest. I'm glad that the city wished up and axed that.
