Between reimbursement loopholes being closed and enforcement actions being brought to bear upon an industry that has lacked proper oversight from day one, it is a breath of fresh air for those of us who work for ethical and compliant organizations. The Playing field has finally been leveled. We are all going to be competing based on our level of service and competence. It's going to be amusing to see all of the rogue labs that have polluted this industry go down the drain now that the toilet has been flushed. :p

It's about fraud! How can you possibly justify quantifying entire analyte classes that screened negative on the EIA on every specimen that comes through the door? You can't! I've been in this industry working for one of the largest diagnostics corporations in the world for seven years, and have taken a beating because we wouldn't step over the line for the sake of a buck. Now that the scum-bags are being run out of town my business is going to thrive. And that will be due to innovation and service.
