Derm "specialty" positions are actually considered "primary care" at Celgene. Thus the reason for the gap in starting salary. There are openings for a reason ... Read all the posts about this job and you'll figure out why there's turn over and vacancies. Unless your desperate ... Keep looking!

Was just going to ask this. Did the reps leave or were they laid off?! I know a couple of those territories can't be due to the rep but maybe just the market itself.

So you know exactly what the IC plan will look like in 2016 and beyond? Some of you clowns post such garbage without having a clue what you're talking about. Let me guess, you heard it from a friend who heard from a friend?

If you are the type who got a participation trophy for three year old soccer and that's the last trophy you "won" you wont do very well at Celgene I&I.

If you like to compete and not cry about how small your territory is or how hard it is to see your customers, or how tough managed care is and you like to be ranked for the world to see, then come on over.

You might want to do some research about commonalities in the derm reps who left. Low rankings. Entitled previous derm reps. Inability to sell when specialty pharmacy is the middle man. Soft. Unwilling to hustle.

How is it that in those territories that the new reps were able to come in and blow it out? Just think about it. Then, after you feel shame, go back to you whine about how small your territory is.

Any postings you see on the website are due to a struggling territory! Reps left for somethin else!

What's target bonus here or average bonus for derm? How are the vacant territories doing?

Disagree. Most call only on derms. Base salary ranges from $75-115k. That is pretty good

Why is there constant turnovers in the same territories??

Every 1-2 years there is turnover is the same territories. same territories w high turnover. We have a handful of territories with really awful managers as in mgrs ain't worth a damn.

Whats with the clutz DM running the DC territory? He seems totally inept to be running a sales team!

I've been in Dermatology since the division was launched in Miami and I'll tell you this. If you are an independent worker, naturally competitive and like making money this is the place. If you can get it done without seeing a manager every month who works two days with you but instead mets you as needed for help, this is the place for you. If you like running your own shop, this is the place for you.

I see two major downsides to this job.

First, the lack of a laptop is absurd. If anyone knew how much field time I missed due to not being able to get my work done with this cute little i-pad, they'd send me one immediately.

Second, everyone from the CEO on down is scared shitless of Specialty Pharmacies. So they refuse to investigate new one despite the fact that around 700 have been created since January 2015. If your business flows through one that is tracked, you're already a leg up. If it flows through something new, you are shit out of luck. There's not one leader who will address it. Instead, they hide behind "don't talk to anyone or you'll get in trouble." Pussies.

All in all, this has been easy money. Might be different this year as they set up the bonus to reward the people who couldn't launch.
