I am considering accepting an offer with this company? I have only done pharma sales for 8 years. Can someone give me an average of what the starting salaries are? Also what are the averages for the bonus? Thanks
This company is a nightmare. DMs leaving. Reps leaving. A retail management position would be a cakewalk compared to dealing with the 3Cs metrics GPS etc.
Run. Fast. Unless your family is starving, this is the last place on earth you should want to be. Honestly.
If you are with a human pharma company you should be asking yourself why no one from animal health is wanting to work at Merial. A lot of openings in sales and very few cross overs from other animal health companies because of their management and culture. Very similar to pharma, expectations of calls per day, GPS in cars to match your computer call ratios...Very metric driven company. If you work well under structure, this is a great company for you-The ROI for a rep's time is measured and tracked to a pre-established plan, ie 34 minute call times, 6 calls per day on 80 percent of remaining potential. this structure gives some comfort that they know what they need to do to be seen as successful while others do not work well in this environment as they prefer the freedom of doing what they think is necessary to achieve the end goal.
A space monkey would be absolutely thrilled to have this job. They could buy a lot of bananas on 100K salary, 40-50K (or more) bonus, company car, expense account, great 401K, great medical benefits, vacation, etc.... Oh, I forgot to mention marketing funds, free gas, and stock options
great, but do you actually think, build a business plan and execute it...or do you really have 30 minutes per call, have to do 6 calls per day and have a GPS in your car?! I can make that money/bene's anywhere. Asking about the structure, is it really that closely watch, wouldn't they care more about results than mileage, etc.? Just want to know...
Bump I just want an idea of salary and bonus ranges for this job. There's an opening in my area. Have 5 years of pharma experience. Please save the "don't work here, it sucks" BS. Every pharma site says that about their jobs. I would seriously appreciate serious responses. TIA
There's very little from the pharma side that can be carried over to the vet side other than the training is rigorous.
