atrium/Maquet/Getinge group consent decree??

Anyone who is a rep selling atrium mesh had better get their resume in order! The end is near.

 

Any one hearing anything on the mesh division being sold off?

 

It would be hard to find a buyer of your products during a consent decree, doesn't seem to make sense that anyone would want to buy the mesh division at this point in time.

 

In defense of Atrium same can be said about all Hernia Mesh products. The golden days of medical device are gone and many organizations are suffering similar issues, not a great place to hang your hat and that's quite sad because many of us worked our tails off to support customers and more importantly improve patient care. Remember Doc's decide what devices to utilize not territory managers so I personally do not appreciate the assumption that somehow we as a whole influence the use of any product regardless of the corporation. I do not currently work for Atrium however I did for many fruitful years and can say with absolute certainty nobody ever asked me to do or say anything unethical, quite the opposite actually. I wish a lot of my old friends and peers nothing but the best and hope they survive these changing markets.

 

I heard Ken Collins is canned! They have finally done something right to get back on track as a good company to work for, maybe too late, it will be interesting to see. The new matrix management seems disconnected, they need a team to put this mess together after the damage caused by Collins. I hope it works for them, a lot of good people still there.

 

I heard JH was forced to resign, anybody else go the way of the dinosaur?

 

Is it true what people are saying about the mesh division being sold off? I know the annual sale(s) numbers for mesh aren't the big/ pretty numbers like other division(s), but the profit margin for mesh is extremely high.

In a company that relies heavily on capital equipment sales, I would've thought that having consistent cash flow, however big/ small it may be, would be a good thing...

Why are they currently hiring mesh reps and not other reps in other divisions within Atrium currently? Chew on that.

Selling mesh just wouldn't be smart. Let's say mesh collectively sold 10 million/ year... And 70% is all profit. That's still a good chunk of change at the end of the day.

 

Any update on Atrium? I may consider interviewing for one of their openings.

Doctor's buying their hernia mesh products again or no?

 

Any further updates on this? I am also interviewing for a position with them, this would be my entry into the med device field, so do you think it would be worth it just to get in? Or is just that bad that I should avoid completely?

 

Maquet has dissolved their entire chest drain division. iCAST reps can no longer attend cases unless invited by an email that has to be submitted the the compliance geniuses at Maquet.

They are also out of PTFE vascular grafts. Reps are on guaranteed salaries, which I am sure wont last long. Pack of morons that have been promoting iCAST off label and finally has caught up to them.

 

The mesh division is supposedly being bought by Insightra Medical.

It seems like the words getting out about the O3FA layer sucking. Are there more actual lawsuits being filed? or just a bunch of chatter?

 

wtf. interviewing for CVI position at Getinge, looked here hoping to see about comp, if you can do decent sales in IABP, vascular grafts post consent decree/recall and come to find some obvious braindead ambulance chaser wanted to play pretend and shut the whole thread down.

 

better to think of the CVI interview as practice for a later day. look over at the thread on getinge/maquet covid greed and you'll see why it might not be exactly a growth position.
