I have been reading all of your comments and there are some things that you need to understand about Clinical Research. The standard of most organizations that employ CRAs is to require two years monitoring experience and a Bachelor of Science. Of course there are exceptions but the majority of the big Pharmas will not bend on these requirements. There are very few Pharmaceutical Companies or Clinical Research Organizations that will even accept your CV without the two years monitoring experience. Also, I have been in the field for 10 yrs and sadly I do not know any other CRAs who were hired based on their completion of a course, Im sure the phenomena exists but I do not have personal knowledge of this. Having said that there are some pathways to obtaining a position as a Clinical Research Associate:
    1. There are positions knows as Study Coordinators at clinical trial sites. These people are responsible for the day to day conduct of a trial, including patient interaction and data collection. These people are usually RNs or other Medical Sciences professionals. After a person has approximately 3-4 yrs experience as a Study Coordinator, they have a much stronger foundation in applying for a CRA position.

    2. There are companies called Clinical Research Organizations- these are organizations that provide the clinical oversight of trials for Pharmaceutical Companies. These companies have positions called either Clinical Trial Assistants or Clinical Research Specialists. These people are responsible for the the administrative function of the trials. The CTA who is interested in advancing to CRA can take training in the interim that will better prepare them for the position of CRA. Clinical Research Organizations can be found in major cities and hotbeds of research such as San Francisco, RTP and New Jersey. IF your interested in this pathway, google CROs and see if any of them are in your area and pursue a position.

I hope this is helpful information.
